UK Thrash Does Death Metal

Postby STD_Caps on Fri Sep 21, 2007 6:12 pm

Hypothetical question. If there was to be a DM covers compilation by the UK Thrash bands what song would your band do. I'm going to leave the definition of Death Metal pretty broad and say that you can be the judge. It seems like all of us on here have a few DM bands we love so this made sense to me for a bit of fun... Those bandless, why not hypothesise.

Hmm, a thrash metal cover of a death metal song would sound pretty interesting

I'm gonna count Napalm Death as death metal, so I choose 'Necessary Evil' or 'Taste the Poison'.

It would be Deaths version of Painkiller!

Nah, probably something like casket garden by Dismember or seeing red by Entombed.

Blates Zero Tolerance by Death or some Necrophagist would be pretty cool, like Only Ash Remains or summat :rockdevil:

We've thought/talked about doing loads of DM covers; the one that comes up most often is Parricide by Pestilence.

Get Amok to play their early shit. It was way more Death than Thrash. They'd do a good Obi cover though they'd hate doing it seeing as they hate Death Metal - except Macho.

Lack of comprehension by Death would be cool.

A lot of these suggestions aren't about successful covers. I know this isn't serious but I'm sure their could be some better suggestions from others. For STD I would definitely go for 'Out of Hand' by Entombed... Quality dirty, angry song

Sorry, not sure exactly what I was going on about there. I was a bit pissed. Anyway, Out of Hand... yeah...
