Kamelot are quite amazing indeed. I bet their next album will be unbelievable. They get a bit better with every album, and Black Halo was absolutely amazing (apart from a couple of songs in the middle that were still good but not amazing). More importantly, as a concept album it worked really really well. Even though there were a couple of just-above-average tracks in the middle, it all flowed together really well and felt like a whole real thing of joy. I really want to see them live, but I can't afford it at all. And now I owe Jamie £80 for The Police ticket. Shit. But yes indeed to Kamelot. I'd call them more a power metal band with prog influences though, rather than a prog-metal band, which is what I'd call Tool or Opeth. But I suppose most power metal has prog influences if you think about really, with big epic songs that have progressive structures and what not. Blind Guardian is definitely an example of this. Lovely.

Oh yes indeed! Finally! I'm definitely seeing them then. I've been wanting to see them for bloody years, they hardly ever tour the UK. Great success!

I put it on the other night when Jamie was here but I was too drunk to hear what was going on. But in real life I'm still a bit too scared to listen to it. As the days go by, I keep feeling more and more that I'm almost ready for the madness. But not yet. Not yet.

I love that album. It sounds alien. I first read about it late 80s when it was out of print. It was issued on CD about 1990, but cost over £20 in HMV and I was student at the time, so all I could do was hold the case and read the booklet. I requested it at the library and six months later they stocked it for me. I was blown away by it, still am. Do you like Frank Zappa too?

Trout mask is one of the best albums ever made. it is just unbelievable and unexplainable to those who haven't heard it. but bloody hell, its amazing!

Frank Zappa, now your talking! i've got Hot Rats and Zoot Allures (and i've got We're only in it for the money and Sheik yerbouti on MP3  ). i think my favourite is Zoot Allures, although its bloody close. but that is the most listenable for me, although there are moments on Hot rats that are just increadible, and the vibe of We're only in it for the money is great. what an increadible guy, a true virtuoso... although you couldn't tell him that!

Oh yes Frank Zappa indeed, I've got that copy of Hot Rats you gave me Jaymes, and I listened to once and enjoyed it very much, but never listened to it again. I will do soon though.

I quite like what I've heard of King Crimson and Pink Floyd but don't yet have any of their stuff!
