Non thrash albums of the year?

Postby origamikid on Wed Nov 11, 2009 4:00 pm

Seeing as December is essentially a no go for most bands as the music industry almost grinds to a halt i guess we can start thinking about non thrash albums of the year.

I am having a hard time actually thinking of releases this year:

Heaven and Hell - The Devil You Know
Kiss - Sonic Boom

I am just drawing blanks here....

Although I still haven't managed to get my hands on it, I'd bet large ammounts of money on Immortal being on there with All Shall Fall. Can't really think of anything else released this year that was any good.

The three best albums of the year for me go to:

Astra - The Weirding (which is in fact phenomenal and has quickly become one of my favourite albums EVER)
Gong - 2032
Saxon - Into The Labyrinth

And well, I can't remember remember any other good releases this year at the moment. Heaven and Hell was a massive disappointment, and the Kiss album was good fun, but you know, it's Kiss! Thought the new Porcupine Tree was completely bloody boring too, and really annoying in places! I can't think of anything else right now.

Fleet Foxes came out in 2008, and Them Crooked Big Boys isn't out yet is it? I don't know the other two.
