I don't have faith, but i never rule anything out.

But to quote Bill Hicks, i don't like the idea of a "Prankster God" putting things that would actively disprove himself. Seems very illogical to me, but he/she/it moves in mysterious ways or so i am told.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I can't wait to see Christianity in twenty years time. Most Christians are 60+ years old...in twenty years...they'll be dead. People in this age aren't as gullable. Slowly dying, which is great.

I don't have a real account of the state of Christianity in England.

It doesn't seem nearly as prominent as anywhere else i can think of.

Minus those crazy African churches that are springing up.

I heard there is only one Christian congregation in the UK with growing numbers now - sounds slightly spurious, but it brings warmth to my heart nonetheless.

I've read the Bible and I've also read the Satanic Bible. Although the former has better stories, the latter speaks more to my human animal. Do what you want, as long as it causes no harm to others,if you want to live hedonistically then do, but do not judge those who choose a more pure path, and vice versa... The world would be a much more tolerant place if we followed Anton LaVey's writings.

I don't care which path people choose to follow, as long as they don't force their beliefs down mine or my future kids' throats. To me evolution makes more sense; survival of the fittest. These creationists don't seem to realise that evolution takes place over millions of years, which is a long time. That or they shudder at the idea that their distant ancestors were actually ape-like mammals rather than Adam and Eve

The Satanic Bible is bollocks. LaVey was just a disillusioned teen with nothing better to do. 'Death is the great abstinence; Life the great indulgence'? Then towards the back they have all that Goth stuff, smearing ram shit on your scrotum and so forth.

Fucking Goths.

And yet you seem to have read more of it than most people here...

I read the first half of it when I was an angst-ridden teen because Dave Mustaine had read it. I think that's where he took inspiration for the Conjuring. Like a lot of people, I wanted to hear the arguments against Christianity. Whilst the first half of it is fairly straightforward - claiming that the Seven Deadly Sins are basically what man was born to do - the latter half is where I think a lot of the Goth stuff must have come from. Honestly, it totally discredits LaVey in my opinion.

The only time I was glad that I'd read it was when a bunch of acoustic-guitar-wielding God-botherers approached me and some friends in a shopping centre. I was still an angst-ridden teen and quite enjoyed them asking if I was possessed. Whilst they were sound guys, they'd all just had FUBAR childhoods and believed everything in the Bible because 'it is (was) the truth'.

FYI, I consider anyone who has ever rated a Slayer album to be an angst-ridden teen.
