They are a worthwhile investment too. I had a Planet Waves lead - one of the ones with the gold, moulded connectors - die on me a couple of months ago. Fair enough, it was two years old. Good to see they've done away with some of the gayness that you used to get with Planet Waves, though: it used to be the case that you had to plug a certain end into your amp or it wouldn't work properly. They got round this by giving you colour-coded elastic bands that you'd immediately lose so you could tell what you were putting where (oo-er).

Do they make Sat Navs with the voice of HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey yet?

I'd love that.

Join the club! I'll have to make a new year's trip to Peacocks to replenish my wardrobe! Peacocks is great for getting cheap clobber that looks reasonably ok. But saying that, I'm going to have a big spend at Topman or somewhere soon, as I got some clothes from there for Christmas and I like them.

A few other bits I got were Unfinished Tales book (Tolkien), a cool book of WW1 cartoons (already got a WW2 one), Agent Steel's 'Unstoppable Force', some slippers, and this guy:

I'm a big boy now you know!

Unfinished Tales is top. Not much point in reading most of the First Age though. Cos its all about Turin and Hurin and everthing there is just a watered down version of The Children of Hurin (which is ace). But Unfinished Tales is great.

Gandalfs accounts of 'The Hunt For The Ring' are excellent though.
