RETRO THREAD - 2006
Whats it going be?
For me... Black Prophecies takes it. The riffs, the tempos, the lyrics, in fact everything!
What about YOU?
Favorite Track - Darkness Descends

Death is Certain (Life is Not) closely followed by The Burning of Sodom (best chorus on the album imo). Behind Bonded by Blood and maybe a couple of other albums, Darkness Descends is my favourite.

Haven't heard this one yet
I basically started working my way back from TDNH after i bought it in 90. Bought Leave Scars on cassette and thought the production was piss poor (after listening to TDNH) wich kinda spoiled my enjoyment a bit so never bothered delving any further back. Might have to suck it and see.

If I get a minute I'll upload that for you man. It's nothing like TDNH though, there are slightly fewer than 246 riffs on it for a start!

I prefer Don to Ron on vocals though, and I think if any DFA album were to gain a nomination for 'Thrash Classic' it'd be Darkness Descends.

It seems like their only essential album to me, I mean the following two are decent but not classics

Man that's a hard choice, it's a fucking killer album, definitely one of the all time thrash classics. I went for Hunger...cos the vocals rule. But Black Prophecies, Burning of Sodom, the title track all mutilate. Best lyrics ever on a thrash album too!
This city is guilty
The crime is life
The sentence is death
Darkness descends
aaaaarrrgggghhhhh!
