Must see them once again at Nottingham Rock City before they go, if they go.

Its true though, well I think so.
Maybe they should, I'd don't want to pay money to see them touring with gay bands like Marilyn Manson. Then again...
Slayer fucking rip! Hmmm... Carry on I say, the world needs them!

As I pointed out on another forum,my mate Simon went to see Status Quo on their "farewell" tour.
In 1984.

Well I don't think they've released a great album for ages, but thats just my opinion.
I can imagine that they will probably split temporarily for a rest and I bet they will be back for more in a couple of years. I may go and see them next time though so I don't miss out, but I may be put off if they go with MM.

5 times! Shit!! I've still never seen them man. Every time they come over they do those all day things or play with slipknot or whatever and its like £40. I had a ticket to see them about 4 years ago at the astoria, but I got tonsilitis - I was gutted.

Owned! That was when they played Reign in Blood in it's entirety for the very first time. I was on the front row.
Wouldn't have been as good as seeing them in 87 when reign in blood was their new album
and i met them before the gig and got my reign in blood signed
and tom even greeted me with the words "hey ugly, how ya doing!!!?"
anyway about a possible split:
1) i agree with the very first post on this topic, and they are not the band that i got into and havent been for years, but others obviously do like the modern slayer and if they want to pay to see them , then why not?
2) how long can a thrash band go on for without losing the vehmence and aggression that was intrinsic to the style? Ok so the rolling stones are still touring but if they are getting on in years, they can still strut and posture, slayer live was always more than that and involved a lot of movement, a lot of aggression and a lot of expending of energy, maybe they are getting too old to thrash (this may explain why i just cant do mosh pits anymore)
3) they have to split in order do to the reformation tour in a couple of years dont they?

I'm lazy and can't be bothered to read the article, but hmm, this is a shock to me! I saw them for the first time at Dowload this year, and I thought it was amazing, except for the fact that they didn't play the best thrash song ever written! I spent their whole set in the pit, and thouroughly enjoyed it! I'd love to see them live again, and again, and again etc. As for the new stuff, I havn't really heard anything after Seasons, exceot God Hates us All which I didn't like and a few tracks from the new one, which I don't particularly like but it's ok.
I'm just waiting for the day that another thrash band forms that equals Slayer's amazingness.
