Twenty five athletes sent home from The Paralympics

Just seen on the TV that over twenty participants in this years Paralympics have been sent home pending a full inquiry for use of an illegal substance.

Also, some have been denied for being "not disabled enough"! :lol: That did make me chuckle when I heard it on the radio.

It didn't make me 'laugh out loud' but it was semi-amusing. I've heard much better cripple jokes over the years though. Putting on your T-shirt so that one of your elbows is sticking out of one of the sleeves and pretending to be a Paralympic swimmer is still one of my favourites, especially when you do mongo noises to go with it.

I used to do that and then waggle the stump dementedly in my sister's face. I might do it again later.

I think it's funny that I didn't distinguish between the Paralympics and the Special Olympics until a couple of years ago.

Paralympics is for people who have physical impairments, e.g. missing an arm or whatever, and Special Olympics is for mongos.

Incidentally, did anyone see the big pile-up in the wheelchair race? I about choked on my tea when I saw it on the news.

And then shouting at everyone in the pub to be quiet when Detroit Rock City came on so I could hear the solo better? I'm so classy.
