Snooty fox possible closure?

Hi Everybody
The Snooty fox needs your help
Please read all this message, I know its long, but it is very important....
I have been told by the owners of the snooty fox (admiral taverns ) that they are only going to give me a 1 YEAR’S Tenancy agreement when my old one runs out, Thats NOW, After that YEAR i will be offered the snooty fox to buy, What does this mean? And why should you care.

After the year is up, i will be given the first chance to buy the snooty fox, before it goes on the market, If i don’t , make no mistake, it will be sold, but not to anyone who wants to keep it as a pub Or live music venue, It will no doubt be knocked down for a car park or residential flats. Even my area manager says that’s the case,
Needless to say I WANT TO BUY IT, but i have no funds to do so, as most people know, its been a very bad year and a half and like all pubs and venues we have been struggling to stay afloat, but we are still here, I thank all the people who have been coming and spending their hard earned cash here to make that happen,
All is not lost, there are options, and i am not giving in without a fight,
1 option is to ask for a possible grant from the lottery fund or some other funding body, If anyone knows who to contact i would be grateful if you let me know,
I need to raise a minimum of £26’000 maybe more, just for a deposit, as the pub company Are asking for a stupid £260’000 for the snooty fox. Needless to say i am going to try to get that reduced,

I don’t want charity and i don’t want a business partner, i may look at an investor of the building, Not the business. All i really need is, all the people that say they are fans or friends of the fox or me, To come out and have a few drinks more often, not when they cannot afford it, but when they are thinking of going out maybe to their local for a few pints, or buying some booze to stay in and watch tv or play on the computer or a house party, instead, have a drink or 2 less by coming here, as every penny we make gives us a better chance of survival. Please let me make this clear, if this place closes i will move on and I will survive, But you and Wakefield will lose a fantastic venue, I for one, don’t want that to happen, they will have to carry me out kicking and screaming, I promise you that,
So if anyone out there knows people who may be able to help, Please let me know, No silly suggestions please, this is very serious, If i lose the venue i lose my home,
I know alot of people already do their best to support us, and only come here when they come out, needless to say i am not targeting you guys, but i do know a lot of people who come in occasionally and think it does not matter if the go elsewhere, and normally i would say thats fine, it can get a bit boring staying in the same place all night, but when you have to fight to save something, You have to put yourselves out , i know i have for years, all i am asking is some of you guys do the same, just for this coming year, cause after the budget its not going to get easier, its not like its hard work coming here to get cheap booze and have a good time and see some great bands, most of which are free entry,
So it will be great to see some of the old Mc Dermots and jockey crowd,
CHEERS MALC

I have spent many a good day at the pub with FTA all dayers, maybe someone could organize a couple of special ones to raise funds to help?

Will be sure to rally the crowd on Saturday night to get the drinks in.

Malc and The Snooty are legendary.

I really hope this place doesn't close. It's my favourite venue. Just a shame I don't live local to it. I'll be playing there in September and I can't wait. I'll help along by drinking the bar dry that night and hopefully there will be a crowd to help out with that one. Malc is fantastic.. The venue is fantastic... Fuck it can't go.

Admiral taverns are offloading loads of their properties, I know of two of their local pubs which have been sold off recently. I will ask a couple of people I know who are pretty well connected in the pub business and see if they have any ideas. It would be bad if the snooty was closed.

If the Snooty closes, so does existence.

I fucking love that place, one of the best venues I've been to in years.

I can see why it would be ripe for redevelopment, due to its location and the space it takes up etc, so heres my theory: Malc should get a mortgage or loan to buy it, get planning permission for it all then sell it off at a profit, buy another bigger, better venue and be quids in!!! Tchhhh......Simples

We should all buy it. Make it UK Thrash HQ or James' Secret Evil Death Base or something.

.... No?

If it wasn't at the other end of the fucking country I'd be in there all the time, especially after this. I'm pretty sure there was some plan from the government to help pub owners or something by giving them loans to buy the places and stopping developers knocking them down, but I dunno if it came to anything.

I've only played there once but I wouldn't like to see any good Northern venue close, especially considering London more or less has a monopoly on all the best gigs at the moment. Could a benefit show or something be sorted out?

Trying to put something together aswell. The more the merrier I guess. Also you can't have enough thrash gigs, remember that!
