fear factory more or less got me into metal, basicly i just wanted that tune off the mortal kombat movie where scorpion fights johnny cage.
i was bout 12/13 at the time and had never heard anything so fucking brutally hellishly rockin.

i still occasionally listen to demanufacture the ONLY fear factory album worth having.the others are all cack.
demanufacture was one of a kind,(ive yet to hear something similar to this day)
it was almost its own genre.i couldnt define it as thrash or death, yet it has elements of both these and more.
the use of digital synth effects(usually a no go or dodgy territory for harder sounding metal bands)actually enhanced the sound to it all and gave it a feel of you actually being in hellish, epic future battle surroundings,a kind of mechanical apocalypse feel.
it really is sci-fi future war style metal in my opinion.theres even a track called hunter killer(aka those flying machines off terminator)one of my faves.

thier recent stuff is lame and whiney, and typical new wave roadrunner tripe, funny how such a great band initially can turn so crap in a short space of a few years.
it annoys me when bands "experiment" too far from what everybody liked them for in the first place.shame.
i know bands have to "develop" creatively but at least keep a similar formula/recognisable style(if it aint broke dont fix it comes to mind)
