Yeah and then you went and made that obsolete by giving some gay cliche metal attitude.

Why do you post in a metal forum then?

Tiamat. From Treblinka (godly, sickening demos) and 'Sumerian Cry' (one of the best examples of Swedish DM) to the pseudo-goth craprock they went on to churn out.

Samael - 3 incredible records, then straight down the pan.

And personally, I think Metallica at least equalled Sepultura's musical death. St Anger is worse than any Sepultura record I've heard.

For complete musical change its hard to rival Anathema, but I like everything theyve done so its not a death in my eyes...

actually yeah I have to agree with Tiamat - in fact I havn't checked out their early stuff, but I've certainly heard their terrible cock rock and that put me off. I'm sure their early stuff is worth hunting down.

On a side note, The Chasm's Conjuration of the Spectral Empire arrived in the post today

I wouldn't bother. Why would you want to promote your band to people you hate? I don't think arguing with everyone and claiming to hate metal bands is the best way to promote your metal band...

Arise is my favourate Sepultura album. It took some time for me to get into because it is a little slower than the others before but it really grew on me.

Agreed. That album is a full on riff fest. I reckon it's the perfect balance between the thrashiest stuff on Beneath the Remains and Schizophrenia and the catchy stuff on Chaos A.D.
