A little underwhelming, I felt. However, the songs live are grand.
Got Static Tensions and Strange Cousins. Both are wicked. However, I do feel Kylesa could utilise their two drummers a bit more. Still really nice with some Neurosis and even Tool-isms tucked in there. Strange Cousins from the West kills it though. One of the most addictive albums I've heard in ages. Check out Minotaur or Freakonomics for tasters but it needs to be listened to as a whole. And then all over again. Brilliant.
Listened to some of the new Agoraphobic Nosebleed stuff and was shocked! Mainly at how listenable it is. It's actually really thrashy and far less over the top to the other stuff I've heard. I think I'll be checking the whole thing out very soon. Still not sure on Baroness it just sounds... ok. Can't really get into it. Oh, and on a thrashier note, Massive Aggressive was a solid, though not an unstoppable, effort.
