I thought it was generally rubbish (not all of it, but most of it). But I'll give it another listen.

I bought Diamonds at the London show and I am amazed by it. It's almost perfect.

I'm liking it a bit more now, and it does get off to a great start, but I still get really bored about halfway through. How many more times do I have to force myself to listen to the whole album before I can enjoy it fully and not be annoyed be the vocals?

Are you sure you're not listening to the Cauldron album by mistake? ;) What aspect of the vocals don't you like? I think he's a pretty good singer. How can you not like Live For The Night? Hi octane awesomeness!

I think I know what it is now. When I listen to the songs individually I do like them, it's just when I try and listen to the whole album in one go, I get so bored. It's all just a bit too samey for me, and I love this genre more than pretty much any others, but I just wish bands would try and do someone new with it. It's a bit like the whole generic thrash thing really - this has the same problem, it's just generic NWOBHM. If I'm going to put on an album like this, I might as well listen to the first Iron Maiden album instead. The songs are good though, I admit I was wrong when I said it was a rubbish album, and even though it's great that bands are playing this music, I still don't think it's a GREAT album, it could be done better and with a tad more variation. I'm talking about any progressive madness or anything, just something a little bit different would've been nice. If they really insist on ripping off the first two Maiden albums, they could've at least ripped off Phantom of the Opera... But hey, they do what they do, and I'm sure they'll carry on doing it album after album, haha! Maybe I'm just over-analysing it all, it is good fun after all.

Yeah his vocals, technically he's great, but there's something about his expression, or maybe just the sound of his singing voice that really grates on me. It just annoys me a bit and is another thing that stops me from enjoying the album all in one go.

No waaaaaayz!

Such a good album, they have done something different with the genre its not very generic at all i think.

Personally, I seriously seriously love the new album, but then again I'm a pretty bad sucker for catchy, cheesy, classic NWBHM

I don't really find the vocals annoying, but I can see why they would be. Point taken on the variation as well, it does seem to be very "samey" but it's so energetic that it seems to drive the album on rather than getting repetitive.

Will definitely look into getting a copy of this at some point :)

I love this album. Whats the song with the "whoooaaaaahhhhhh" in the chorus? Is it Katana? Well it is a fucking tune!

Katana is a indeed a great song actually, I love the middle section with that cool little rhythm, very nice and lovely.
