New Death Angel Album!

From a blog on their Myspace:

Death Angel New Album update

The jam last night was one of the best yet. As we approach the final phase of writing for this album, we are so locked in its insane. After months of attacking the mission to create a slab of heaviness that will satisfy our voracious hunger for THRASH, we have arrived at our destination!

The plan is to continue writing for the next couple of weeks and enter the recording studio by September. I will kick down the details soon as to who we will choose to work with and where. Also will throw some song titles your way, perhaps the album title as well... but not yet! Sit tight now, children…

Back to the music. Fuckin heavy as fuck! Dark vibe throughout, twisted and maniacal. Brutally solid and melodic at once. Urgent and triumphant driven by pain and angst. Different cuts keep getting stuck in my head as the obsession with this record deepens. It's crushing and oh so tasty!

Dying to give you the details, but not until the word is final (you know how we do) so keep checking back. I promise not to keep you waiting like I usually do! We can't help it if we are the unconventionally ambiguous bastards of thrash!

Thanks for sticking with us. Prepare for a sonic beat down!

-Rob

I can't fucking wait for this, Death Angel are one of my favourite bands, and Act III is one of my favourite albums ever!

I've always hated Death Angel and never understood the hype over The Ultra Violence.

To be honest, I couldn't really care if they're making a new album :P

The last one was, well, not very good... Act 3; boring!!!! Frolic; some good tracks but boring! TUV; full-on thrash, great album although the riffs could be more varied and less of the same riff over and over again.... but I like it :)

i liked thrown to the wolves off their last album but apart from that i thought it was very average. Not expecting much from this new album but if it means a tour that would be great because they are one of the best bands i've ever seen live.

The Ultra Violence was a fantastic debut but, not surprising really, sounded quite childish in places.

Frolic Through the Park was perfect until some muppet decided to stick that bonus track "Devil's Metal" on the cd version. What a bag of shite, and it's not even on at the end of the album where you can just switch it off!

Act III was very underrated. I liked it but, granted, not as much as the other two.

The Art of Dying was a good, if somewhat erratic comeback. Enough on there to convince me the new one will be more confident.

Absolutely. I don't see why there's so much hostility towards them on here.
