Yeah but Meshuggah smell like cheese and dandilions and have a general air of Frenchness about them.

Seeing as I've just completely changed my set up:

Guitars -

LTD M-200FM (Fitted with Original Floyd Rose, SD TB-6 in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck)
Peavey V-Type ESP Limited Edition on it's way (SD TB-6 will be going in to the bridge and a '59 in the neck)
Jackson KVX10 that hasn't been played in at least a year

Amp -

Engl Screamer 50 Combo

I've just dropped my Marshall AVT150 which had in-built effects so I'll probably invest in a noise gate, delay/echo pedal and a graphic EQ in the not-too-distant future.

Pah!

I recently went back down to 9s after playing 10s for nigh on 5 years - 9s are much easier to play and there's not that much tonal difference between 9s and 10s. I once played 13s tuned to B - that was shite.

Not when you compare the difference between 9s and, say, 12s.

If 9s are good enough for the likes of Eddie Van Halen, they're good enough for me.
