Im not sure if we have actually had a thread soley about VENOM yet, but as the first UK thrash band, i think we should. Views please, and for added interest, lets have a poll for the best LP (probably a easy guess as to the winner tho :lol: )I have only included the 80s lps as i doubt very much anyone will consider anything after then to be their best work :?

i voted for black metal, but welcome to hell was very very close behind.

I bloody love Venom. Was a tough one but I went with Black Metal, im sick of people saying Venom are ''poser Black Metal'', they coined the fucking term in the first place! At war with Satan is greatly underated imo, both the album and song.

I only have Black Metal and it's great. I was listening to it earlier today. I really want to get Welcome to Hell, I hear it has a slightly punkier vibe and I'm the sort of man that could dig that. I think only owning one album kind of invalidates my vote. However, I can't imagine how anyone could not enjoy the charm of that album.

Welcome to Hell has 3 of the best Venom tracks on it, but I prefer Black Metal overall, just so amazing!!! I love the bonus tracks on the cd remaster/re-release, Bursting Out super-speed version is fucking awesome!

Same as caps i only have BM, but it really is a lovely bit of skin so i voted for that.

Will get the others at some point.

I'm the fool that has just voted for "At War With Satan" for two reasons.
1) I really do like the album,18 minute epic title tracks on thrash albums = win for me
2) I've still got the original vinyl release,gatefold sleeve,Lyric sheet and all,on Neat records,that I bought when it came out.
