Best Metal/Rock Ballads?
One of my fave ever songs has just popped up on random play, Scorpions "Always Somewhere", god did this band write fantastic tunes. What other amazing Metal/Rock ballads bring a tear to your ear?

I prefer Motorhead's "One More Fucking Time"

Two more class Scorps ballads,"When the Smoke is Going Down" from Blackout,and "Lady Starlight" from Animal Magnetism.
I'm a big fan of "power ballads" I'll knock up a list when I get a minute.

Both of the Motorhead songs mentioned pretty much, that and walk a crooked mile. Whilst not really a ballad it has that feel for me.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

sleeping in the fire is one of the singularly best tracks ever written, and the guitar solo is just perfect!

Good Lord, ballads are hard to get correct. If we're talking straight-up rock ballads, then the 2 finest examples are to be found as follows;
- WARRANT - 'Heaven'
- WINGER - 'Miles Away'
Classics. I would also accept any of Skid Row's, especially the one they refer to as 'Wasted Time'
Not traditional ballads as such, but BY GOLLY do Dream Theater know how to pen a melody when they ease back.
