Schmier/Destruction on Nuclear Blast anniversary compilation

Postby Katze on Sat Jun 09, 2007 6:07 pm

I don't know if anyone's aware of this, but Nuclear Blast have released a 20th anniversary compilation cd called 'Into The Light' which was composed by Victor Smolski of Rage.
It features 10 songs he has composed, but with 10 guest vocalists

Tracklisting as follows:

1. Dirty Wings (feat. Tobias Sammet - EDGUY)
2. Terrified (feat. Peter “Peavy” Wagner - RAGE)
3. Ruling The World (feat. Tony Kakko - SONATA ARCTICA)
4. Death Is Alive (feat. Mats Leven - THERION / KRUX)
5. Bloodsucker (feat. Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer - DESTRUCTION)
6. Slaves To The Desert (feat. Hansi Kürsch - BLIND GUARDIAN)
7. A Perfect Day (feat. Andi Deris - HELLOWEEN)
8. Eternally (feat. Oddleif Stensland - COMMUNIC)
9. Inner Sanctuary (feat. Marco Hietala - NIGHTWISH / TAROT)
10. In The Picture (feat. Tarja Turunen - Ex-NIGHTWISH)

more info

Hmm, so anyway..die hard Destruction fans might be interested to hear the song he's on.
I haven't listened to it yet though, just downloading it now..
according to Victor
"A real trashy and tricky piece with a 200bpm double bass - Schmier really kicks ass!
The song deals with the current crisis in the Iraq war and their causes (failed US politics)"

wow, if i had a copy of every nuclear blast compilation CD, and put them on top of each other, then snuck them to the back of the house of this girl who lives up the street, and stood on them, i could elevate myself high enough to sneek a peek through her bedroom window :D

But would said pile be stable enough to allow you to crack one off? I doubt it. Probably best to stick to going through her wheelie bin eh?

I've already pre-ordered this, it was supposed to be out last week, but because HMV.co.uk are so shit, obviously I don't have it yet :wall:

That is probibly true! NB have tons of compilations out

Got the promo for this a while back, I remember posting in the "now listening to" thread. The track with Schmier is pretty cool. Not thrash but Death is alive is also worth downloading IMO.
