Why else would he have Budget-branded post-its? Most people wouldn't even have the normal, yellow post-its in their car, let alone Budget ones. I've no idea who Budget are so it is possible that Jack is in their employ. He might even own the company, hence why he keeps Budget post-its in his car.

If Jack was driving the rental car, they would most likely notice that it came back dodgy. If Jack wasn't driving the rental car, the other person could phone Budget to see if any of their cars have come back dodgy and get to Jack that way. This assumes, however, that Jack didn't lie about his name, which he almost certainly would have.

All I'm saying is that Jack's a tosser.

I don't drive and am not old enough to rent a car, unless the 25-year-old thing is a myth. Had it been Avis or Enterprise, I would have been alert.
