This all came about because of a Black Metal thread. Black Metal isn't interesting at all; it's fucking daft! I was just making other people see the error of their ways by investing their time into it. It's not even as if threads descend into petty shit-slinging solely because I post something that I found funny either. If anything people seem to get more pissed off when I post something 100 percent serious but which they disagree with in the strongest possible terms. Look at what happened with the Peep Show thread: I made posts that hinted at my very genuine concern that it has become fucking garbage and people started sobbing and wanted to beat me up.

You see, I don't mind anything you put in seriousness. Even if I disagree with it at least it seems worthwhile. I could see your view on Peep Show. I also thought you were right re American Dad vs Family Guy and when it comes to the thrash bands you like your input is worthwhile. But when you play the fool I try to ignore it. But, like I said, accusing people you don't know of being fat-long haired goth losers and kiddie fiddlers, even in jest, is shitty.

I don't want you banned. I just want you to know the difference between quantity and quality.

That's basically all I do. I also refuse to talk to Irish people. I crack jokes about Immortalicide's bird because that is what men generally do and because it's fucking funny. And as for ribbons69, he's a complete tit so it doesn't really matter.

If you don't give a shit about the topic, e.g. the black metal thread, just leave it alone - this is what people mean when they say you spoil and derail good threads. It's not just because it often drifts them off topic (everyone is guilty of that) but because you clearly dont give a shit about the topic, you just feel you've found new territory to annex with your mediocre humour.

All it needs is the smallest amount of judgement to tell when arsing around is going to go by harmlessly or just wreck a thread - everyone else seems capable of it.

I'm going to lock this thread because it really isn't raising any points that haven't been raised before.

Iain - we are not saying that you should stop posting crap full-stop. Just don't treat this place as your personal ego playground and posting shit purely because you're bored and have nothing else to do. It seems a fairly straightforward point that - as James has said above - everybody else here seems to be able to see and abide by, and (despite your opinion otherwise) you are no different to anybody else on this forum.
