Clean Thrash vs. Dirty Thrash

Postby James on Mon May 29, 2006 6:01 pm

what do you prefer, the polished "clean" sounding thrash metal or the "dirtier", often more aggressive end of the spectrum?

I suppose it raises the problem of what is considered dirty? I would say anything from Slayer and Dark Angel along to Sepultura, early Kreator, Sodom, etc is dirty, while clean would be stuff like Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, and so on.

Personally, there's no contest for me - dirty evil thrash all the way!! :rockdevil:

Some dirty stuff can be so goddamned samey,

but I signed up because I love thrash - clean and dirty, raw and the other one -- you understand - I'm almost certain that you do

you do realise the exact same could be said for clean? And with more evidence in my opinion :P

DIRTIER THAN BRIANNA BANK'S ARSEHOLE!

I love a lot of Thrash, be it well produced or not, but the overly clean stuff, e.g. Mordred, Death Angel, Annihilator pisses me off.

hhhm, I wouldn't put Death Angel in the 'overly clean' section, but fair enough :P

hhhhm, a tough one. I suppose Exodus was fairly dirty for it's time. But then compare it to other things from the same time, like Hellhammer...
