although on this forum we take the mick out of emos from time to time,that paper is still way off.i dont know the ins and outs of emo culture but im sure i know a bit more than that incompetent writer.all who work for that paper(and any other paper)have got thier heads up their arses

for starters i though it was the goths who were the ones obsessed with death when the whole marylin manson craze was in the media.
what about death metal fans,theyd be commiting suicide and all types of nasty violent acts considering the content in the genre,but you dont read anything like"teenager disembowels child and cuts holes in it to have sex with just coz he had some cannibal corpse albums and attended death metal gigs".and if that was a boy in the article im sure his video game collection would be blamed along with his music collection.
these people who commit suicide or sick crimes are literally unstable or in the wrong frame of mind mentally and music has nothing to do with it.i like death,thrash,hardcore,punk,NWOBHM etc but if i killed myself,murdered,blew up a building or gave someone a beatdown.i wouldnt want the music genres being linked to the actions.this forum would then be in the headlines as another insight into the sick and twisted mind of my own doings.

ive been recently listening to suicidal tendencies a lot just lately but i dont have any suicidal tendencies and wont be attempting to kill myself in the months/years to come.

i only noticed a "skull" wristband in the transition other than that it wasnt really a drastic or extreme makeover.

the only explanation i can think of is that she was perhaps bullied to the point of suicide by chav pupils or the "popular" girls for being an indvidual and having the courage to stand out.

i know this forum takes the piss out of the whole emo thing but i think just like that goth beating incident/thread a few months back that this is just as tragic and anyone who makes jokes about the victims is extremely distasteful/disrespectful in my opinion.

P.S.since when were blink 182 an emo band. i know they are whiney but i classed them as american poprock teen highschool bollocks.

i knew therd be someone who had to completely lower the tone and seriousness

all i meant was that the paper tried to make her after pic seem like some outrageous big deal,when actually she looked better in my opinion.

I think she looked way better beforehand, but yeah it was hardly a ghastly transformation. I find it quite sad, she was clearly too young to properly comprehend or overcome whatever issues she had.

I thought the article was very accurate, If I listened to My Chemical Romance I'd probablly top myself aswell. She should have listened to Embrace instead, Emo that won't cause you hang yourself with your school tie.

She'd never had killed herself had she just listened to Cloven Hoof. If any moment in music gives one a reason to live, it's the chorus of Road of Eagles.

But yeah, this is indeed a shame, and it's an even bigger shame that her death is being used to demonise another genre of music that, whilst very shit, causes no harm to anyone, and is certainly not the 'cult' this article claims it to be. It's much easier to blame someone/something else when you secretly realise you have to look closer to home for the truth.

It wouldn't be so bad if, like us, it's readers could laugh at stuff like this as being completley blown out of proportion, sensationalist and fucking trashy as fuck.

But no, they don't. They HONESTLY believe it's the best newspaper and that it's the only one THAT REALLY TELLS THE TRUTH. And it's the second best selling, behind the Sun, which is pretty much on the same level. This kind of stuff really affects people's world views, and as trainee journalist, it makes me completely embarassed that they get away with it.
