I kind of agree. They mix it up proper on Ghost Reveries. The songs do sound all over the place. I think that if I listened to it A LOT I'd start getting it but a lot of the time I think music shouldn't be that much work. I mean, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Tool took minimal effort (excepting 10,000 Days :roll: ) but Opeth is like 'that's cool, yea- oh, it's gone...hmm not bad- oh it's gone again'. Be crazy and epic but make it a song!

im a new opeth convert. I presumed they were shit based on the amount of mini moshers who wore their merch but i have discovered they are infact incredible. Damnation is my favourite. call me a n00b or whatever but it's such a pr0n album. black water park is good too.

ffs it's awesome, how can you not like it!

I urge everyone who hasn't really given them a chance to download a few albums (inc. Damnation) and give them a proper listen...you won't be disappointed.

To be fair, I only have one Opeth album (mp3s). Still Life I think. I never, ever listen to it because I don't really like it at all.

If you like chilled out proggyness seriously check out Damnation..

Have a listen to the songs Ghost Of Perdition, The Moor, The Baying Of The Hounds, The Leper Affinity... If you really don't like those songs then I suppose everyone has their own opinions...

Like Opeth or not Mikael Akerfeldt does some of the best growls I've ever heard. Infact! I think Him, Tardy and Azagthoth are my favourite growlers
