I've been in t'Egypt for a week and it was bloody marvelous. You can be sure that for the duration of the trip I sang Nile lyrics at all the locals:
"YE SHALL NEVER AGAIN SEE RAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!111
Speaking of locals - some of them were tossers. They proper hound you, trying to sell you stuff - it's annoying, especially when they get all grabby and start crying at you. After the 2nd day of being bothered by them I just started to get really rude with them. It did make me feel like the British Empire was in full swing again though. Also, if you stay in the sun for too long, you get the shits. So many people became ill (I didn't do too bad - only had a day of it).
Among some of the places we went to were the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Queens, the Philae Temple and the High Dam in Aswan. All whilst cruising down the Nile.
I'll post some photos in this thread once I've uploaded them.

Cool stuff.
My mum's mate said a lot of the people out there who wear tea-towels on their heads or whatever are quite keen to get their photo taken with you and have the gall to ask you for money for the privilege. Is that the case?

Yes, a number of them tried that trick on us. They even tried it on my Dad: big mistake - he's the tighest arsed Scotsman there ever was.
They also hang around in the tourist sites and they'll try and take you to some 'secret' place which you can find yourself quite easily and show you some gay hieroglyphic and then try and coax money off you for something you could have just found yourself. The funniest one I saw was this woman who was in front of this bush picking flowers off it and trying to sell them to people who walked past... it's as if she didn't realise that if people really wanted a flower they could just pick it themselves.
I hate poor people.

To be fair, you should be glad that Arabs didn't lead you into a back alley and stone you to death.
What about quaint street-dancers?

I'm Jealous, wanker.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Didn't see any of those. There was an old man with a snake though.

God, me too. I was in the Jobcentre today and there was this hideous blubber-wench moaning that she wanted more benefits but didn't know how to do the forms.
The fact that I was in there applying for Jobseekers Allowance (alright, the dole) is besides the point

Precisely.
I've been on the dole for a couple of months now. It's great. Just enough to cover my expenses, i.e. booze and guitar strings. I'm sure the Jobcentres in Essex are pretty grizzly but there's nothing that makes you feel more ashamed of being Scottish than seeing someone who's clearly come straight from the meth clinic shouting and swearing in a bid to get more benefits. There's also a fucking fit bird that gets her interview before me. I have to sign on tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to smell her hair a bit.

My mother works in a benefit office in St.Helens. I feel sorry for some of the people she has to deal with.

The worst one I've heard is from one of my mates' mums: she's a social worker who works with children in infancy. She was just showing them cards with things like apples and cars on them but, when she showed a kid a picture of a milk bottle and asked him what it was, he replied 'methadone!'

That really is terrible! Some people should not be allowed children at all.
