Just got to this topic as i've not long got back from an 80s weekend at Butlins :dance:

I think what me and ian were saying in the car last thursday was that the whole uk scene was definately the poor relation in the bigger scale of things (apart from the obvious sabbat, onslaught, venom etc), and the bands we did have were just not world class and didnt seem to care about it!! The attitude was lacking and the bands didnt seem to notice or give a shit!! This time round, bands do seem a little more focused on the quality of the music, and dont seem to be following a trend but their instincts (sounds kinda familiar!!) and hopefully it will give rise to a far better scene!!!

The new thrash movement in the UK seems to be getting along nicely. No doubt posers will latch onto the trend soon enough who were not long before listening to some nu-hardcore crap like Atreyu or something! :lol:

No-ones begun to challenge Sabbat yet but the scene and bands are still very young. In a few years time i'd expect a few bands to have found their own sound instead of playing Testament rip offs.
