Seeing as we have had nearly everything out that is coming out for uk thrash this year - whats your fav riff of the year?
Mine atm i am thinking is the main riff from "Mussolini Mosh", so recognizable and just makes me want to loose my fucking mind every time it kicks in after the MOSH!
Other then that im thinking like - somethin hospital of death, dunno which riffs i love more then others tho!

Re: Fav riff of 2009?
The riff at 5:04 in Vektor's 'Forests of Legend' wins for me straight away. Then the riff that just comes before it is in second place, then in third place the riff at 6:11 in 'Accelerating Universe.' In fact, that whole album pretty much has all the best riffs of the year for me!
Talking of Hospital of Death actually, the opening riff of Night Beast is amazing! Even now, after I haven't listened to the album in ages, the riff still pops into my head all the time. I bloody love it.
Also, at 1:36 in Nebkuadnezza's 'Infotainment', that bit always makes me want to run around everywhere, it's brilliant.
And finally, the main riff of Saxon's 'Demon Sweeney Todd' is one of the most pounding heavy metal riffs in this day and age of modern big boy bullshit.
But yeah, Vektor pretty much wins everything for me this year.

First riff of Night beast is def amazing. It is so megadeth but still SO HOD.

Haha, yeah, I pretty much want to rape Vektor every day at the moment. In fact, I listen to them everyday and imagine raping them. And it is good.

The really epic bit in Iskander Dhul Kharnon by Nile with the wailing guitar and all, and the first one from Norden On Fire off All Shall Fall. I haven't listened to Infected Nations properly yet cos the bloody post is taking forever, and there are way too many from Gama Bomb to even start thinking about picking one.
