It's really quite strange that Maiden played that at Rock in Rio. I don't particularly enjoy those long epic tracks from the 90s albums personally, I think they're trying too hard to be another Hallowed. I think Blaze's voice worked better on the more upbeat tracks.

Man on the edge is prime, the rest of X-factor, not so much. To this day I've never been able to listen to it in one sitting.

Harris and Smallwood defend that album to the death saying it is one of their best works and fans 'just weren't ready for it'.

What I can't believe about the X Factor is that Fortunes Of War and Look For The Truth have EXACTLY the same intro, musically, and are both next to each other on the album. I mean, I love Steve Harris, but is he an idiot or something?

Anyway, The Clansman is so amazing I can't believe it, but the production of Virtual XI makes it a bit silly. I absolutely love it on Rock In Rio, and I love that version of Sign Of The Cross even more, Bruce just takes it to another level. Sorry Blaze. Blaze is definitely better at Futureal though, I found it lacking energy some what when Bruce sang it, I think there's a live version of it on The Wicker Man single, from the Ed Hunter tour.
