Out of all the articles I've written, and there have been a lot in the last 12 years, this has taken the longest, involved the most interviewees, been written and re-written the most, had the most problems due to software errors and has been the biggest pain in the arse, but has also been the most enjoyable to do (sniff sniff), and I'd like to say thanks again. All the times I had to chase up answers, questions and then do it again because Mozilla Thunderbird deleted two months of emails, it only made me more determined and gave me more belief that this scene deserved such coverage.
Having been lucky enough to first hear thrash in late '84/early '85, see it rise and fall, I never dreamed that one day there would be a bunch of bands from this fair isle that would ignite the spark again.
I've been lucky to meet a few of you at gigs and I plan to try and get to see as many of you as I can, although it's not easy with a young family and working ~60 hours a week. So if any of you thought I'd disappear into the ether now I've nailed my article, think again! I'd like to think that this is the start of helping to promote UK Thrash in Terrorizer, so bear me in mind if you want your demo reviewing.
The first wave of UK Thrash had it's moments, but in comparison to the rest of the world it under-achieved. I believe that the New Wave Of UK Thrash Metal has the ability to surpass first time around.
Now go and prove me right!
