Tremol-No

Postby Metal Iain on Tue Jul 08, 2008 12:30 pm

Whilst killing time on YouTube th'other day, I came across a video advertising a thing called Tremol-No. I'm not sure if anyone on here will have heard of it because it's only a couple of years old. Basically, it's a replacement spring claw designed for tremolo-equipped guitars which allows you to go from having, for example, a fully floating Floyd Rose to having one which can either only dive or one that is locked in position like a hard-tail. Whilst this is, in a way, utterly pointless - why not just use a hard-tail guitar - I think it's a pretty cool idea for Floyd-Rose devotees as, when in dive-only or hard-tail mode, it means that if you snap a string the others will remain in tune. It'll also allow you to use D-Tunas and so forth with a floating Floyd Rose.

Yeah, basically a gadget for wankers.

It would be for me. I could stick it in dive-only mode and not have to worry about putting the other strings out of tune when doing string bends. What's more, I've seen how it's installed and it looks fairly simple. They go for £45 but, like most things guitar, you can get them for for the same number but with a dollar sign in front. If I can get one for $45 without getting fucked in the arse by duty or anything, I'll go for it. I was looking into Hipshot Tremsetters when I found this and this seems kind of better.

This might make me play my other guitar again. Will make changing strings a dream.

A boring dream. But a slightly nicer dream than changing strings on an otherwise normal FR.

I bought one of these but it wouldn't fit in the guitar I had at the time, it's been sitting in my room for almost a year now. I'll sell it for £25 if anyones interested.

What type of fitting does it have, clamp or pin?

If it's pin, I'll take it.

Incidentally, what kind of guitar did you have so that it didn't fit?

At the time I had this awefull Vintage Metal axxe wraith, such a terrible guitar. I recently got a Peavey v-type ntb st and it's so much less hastle.

Nice guitar. Weirdly enough, this'll be going into a Peavey V-Type NTB TR. If it doesn't fit that - hopefully it does - it'll be going on a guitar I have an Original Floyd Rose on.

I'm sure it will fit, the problem with mine was that there was this block of wood in the back lol. I love the TR, great guitar what colour you got it in?
