Tiny tiny offical real snippet of the new Metallica fun

I'm quite pleasantly surprised at this. It's only literally a few seconds of 2 different riffs, but I think it possibly bodes well for a potentially quite-good album. It comes about just over 2 minutes into the first video clip (the 2nd one doesn't work). What say you all? It may only be a few seconds, but it has definitely given me a bit of hope!

Well that could have been a hell of a lot worse. They seem to have reverted back to pre St Anger, something that most people predicted anyway. Who knows.

First bit sounded pretty decent. Second bit with vocals sounded more naff.

Fair enough, a few passable hammer-on riffs. I mainly just found the video a typical arrogant hype-up though.

Sounds alright, nothing amazing but it could have been alot worse.

Hopefully this album will actually be good, I'm not getting my hopes up though

It's going to be utter crap. What a waste of a good band.

They should have just stuck with I Disappear-style songs.

Haha, funnily enough it was that song that got me interested in Metallica. I have to admit I did enjoy it quite a lot. I remember watching the video on the Mission: Impossible 2 DVD and thinking James Hetfield was fucking cool. So basically, you could almost say that Tom Cruise and John Woo got me into thrash metal.

And Anthony Hopkins, he was the only redeeming feature of those films.

(I would gladly let Anthony Hopkins have me if he so desired)

Of course, I forgot he was in it. It's hard for my brain to comprehend good old Hopkins being in such a terrible film sometimes.

Better than I expected, I'll be honest. I still think it'll be rubbish though.

Sounds alright but I think the vocals seem a bit off with the rest of the music.

If I were them I'd release the album with no hype at all. Just get on with it. If its good people will buy it... it's Metallica! Always worries me when I see hype... there's no hype without shit.

Having said that, yeah, riffage good, voice seems a little odd.
