I think there's plenty of contest!

Reign in Blood is certainly great, but I wouldn't say there's much between it and those other albums listed. Indeed, I would say I prefer others.

Even as a Slayer album, I often prefer Show No Mercy over Reign in Blood. It's hardly a clear choice, it may be traditionally "the" thrash album, but for me the others are just as great.

Have to say that Pleasure To Kill is my choice, terrific riffage, quality songs and all round thrash :rockdevil:

In '86 i was 17 and bought most of the albums listed as soon as they were released, for me it'll always be MOP. Metallica's finest outing and one of the top 10 greatest metal albums of all time IMHO. After that they lost Cliff and it all went downhill.

I know it's since become fashionable to dislike metallica and yeah i do think they suck donkeys balls now....well apart from St.Anger (not the album) which was pretty good. But they do deserve massive props for what they were in the 80s.

I'm gonna have to say MOP, simply because I don't listen to Thrash 100% of the time, and MOP isn't as purely thrash as the others. Plus it's an absolutely cracking album in its own right, though Peace Sells was a very close second.

Never been overly keen on more than a handful on NA songs but the first three songs on Eternal Devastation top most bands' entire back catalogues!

I think I voted Darkness Descends... if I did, I stick to that choice.

Tough choice, but at the end of the day:

PLESHA 2 KILLLLLLL

The riff after the solo in PTK=

Although that really was a tough choice none of them have the all-the-way-through intensity of PTK.
