also Dio is the fucking best metal singer ever (with halford mincing around in 2nd place), i saw him down in southampton last year and it was amazing! he's so old (he looked like he was dead) but so bloody fantastic.
Abso-bloody-exactly. I thought the same thing when I saw him in London, he really did look like he was dying but his voice was still stupendous. This man will live forever!
As for Sabbath and Kiss... well, again as Jamie said, what an unbelievable question to ask! No contest at all. Not even a minute one. The thought of Kiss makes me want to cry and be sick (even though their songs can be quite fun), whilst the thought of Sabbath makes me think, "Well done." They are the epitome of heavy metal. And whilst they deserve automatic respect for basically being the creators of heavy metal, they go way beyond that. They just wrote some of the best songs and riffs and all such fun in the whole world. Even if they weren't the first heavy metal band and just came out yesterday, the songs would still stand up high amongst all such boys and fun and .
you don't now the story of dio then!!! started in a band called Elf in the late 60s early 70s i think (not too sure onthat, never heard their stuff), then he joined RAINBOW, fucking amazing!!!! then he joined Sabbath and sang for them and was awesome, THEN he had a solo career, then joined Sabbath again, did some more solo albums, sung in the Tenacious D movie, and now Heaven and Hell, which is basically Sabbath with Dio on vox, again!!!
