Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I'll only be happy if it sounds like Justice or Kill em All

Same here. It's no point getting excited about it because it's more likely than not we'll be disappointed. And that way, if it is good we'll be pleasantly surprised and it'll be lovely. But we all know it probably wont be. If those songs they played live are anything to go by, it'll be better than St Anger but as boring as motherfuck. Judas Priest will come out with the album this year that will slay all other albums with it's wonderful heavy metal.

I'm looking forward to it quite a fucking lot. Nothing can be worse than reload so anything above that is a bonus. I consider myself a big Metallica fan but I still can't play that album.

It'll be down to perspective in the end. I'm more than fairly certain it won't be groundbreaking or even anywhere near their best, but if we compare it to RTL, MOP etc then of course we're going to be savagely disappointed. But if it's an improvement on Load, Reload and S* A**** then that can only be good news.

But if it's not even that good then, if they have any sense, they should hang it up forever, with Kirk going back to Exodus, Rob back to Ozzy and Hetfield and Ulrich going cap in hand to Dave Mustaine begging him to let them join Megadeth.

It'll just be another album, nothing special, a band as "important" as they used to be can never get back to their prime years, it's the same with any big band in any genre. I get bloody annoyed when Lars does his "the new record will be "complex" but at the same time "simple", with lots of "heavy", but also "melodic" stuff. It's a return our roots but at the same time, it's a step forward" bollocks. It'll just be another 10 songs on a record to hear. Though it would be great for another curve ball like with Load, I'd rather that than just "METAL!!!111" and open E chugging for the sake of it, that's just silly boys rounders.
I remember a Nirvana tune, 'I Hate Myself and I Want to Die.' As much as I like Kurt Cobain. I can't have people like that coming over here, on smack, fucking saying that they hate themselves and they wanna die. That's fucking rubbish. Kids don't need to be hearing that non-sense.

Ahh, maybe they will have drop-D but fret the E. That way it can be the same but different and a step forward as well as backward.... you could say a step sideways or even upways the possibilities are endless.

=D>

We had the new Metallica album conversation on Thursday at rehearsal. The verdict was erm, only Rubin can save them now. The fact that he's binned the first 2 demo's they gave him sounds good. We all know the Black album is by far the superior Metallica album and there's no reason for them or anyone else to re make it

IN COMING !!!! TAAAAAAAAAKE COVER!!!!!!!

I aggree with that. Everyone can rip it but it is THE definitive metal album (not thrash but metal) of the 90's. The fact that Rubin can tell metallica that thier songs are not good enough should be a small promise.
