None of the how too stuff works by just reading. It takes time i guess.

I used to be terrible at growling, but the more you do it the better you get, and the more you learn to do.

The stuff about warming up i think is spot on. I mean you can even warm up by growling along to a few songs and then just continue. Cos when you do it straight away its not.... fully there. I cant explain. I dont understand how it even works really, i just do it.

Speaking to Corpsegrinder about it and he said it is just the exact same with him, but he doesnt even have to warm up. Before he goes on stange he might do a quick grunt to see if its still there.

An ex member of Cradle of filth told me that back in the day Dani never used to warm up before shows. Maybe he has changed things a bit these days i don't know.

I can hear a massive difference in my voice once i'm warmed up. Schreechy growly vocals are a steep learning curve, most other musicians need at least five to ten years solid to sound good, but just within a few months practice every day you might be able to suprise yourself. Also don't worry to much about making a knob of yourself in the beginning, just go for it. For me just doing very mediocre vocals has opened loads of doors for me and improved my songwriting and arrangement skills loads.
Also having been looking for a vocalist for years i have a really good excuse to sound shit, also it is good fun..
