I'm too tired to write an essay on the ins and outs of the King's voice, but I think it comes down to a number of things...

1) His voice is just... freaky, which fits his lyrical content.
2) His lower voice sounds equally evil, again, fitting.
3) He's incredibly unique for
4) A good case point - when Metallica did a mercyful fate medley on garage inc, it sounded incredibly limp, you can't rip him off. (Yeh, it's metallica, but.. shut up)
5) Err... Stage Presence?!
6) It's funny to take the piss out of him.
7) It's BLASPHEME to slag him off, he's so fucking shine and I does not rapes pAJSDLKGHAKLDJALSDA:LDASDAS>D.

Its not so much that he is a GOOD vocalist, its more the fact that it is what it is and he is doing what he is doing, sure its sounds a bit silly, even he must know that but only the King does it and he does it well. His vocal lines that he comes up with are also spectacular, more opera than heavy metal, the lyrics are great too...
