I never thought much of "The Eyes of Horror" though.

Apparently Jeff Becerra was shot and turned into a cripple.

apparently the shooting was drugs related (so i heard), though that may not actually be true, but what is true is that possessed were an awesome band, and i loved all the stuff they did, especially the original version of swing of the axe. They were the mutts nuts!!!! It was because of the 7 churches album that i actually made an inverted cross necklace in metalwork at school!

Seven Churches is pretty good, there are a couple of tracks I really quite enjoy, but the rest I could do without.... also what the fuck happened to them after that album?? good riffs in places on 'Eyes..' and 'Beyond...' but why the fuck do the guitars sound so pathetic? Also the songs aren't very good, which doesn't generally help make a good album

Seven Churches was a good album but the drumming was hilarious in places.
Even though the guitars sounded dreadful, I still prefer Beyond the Gates. I remember buying it on vinyl the day it came out. The album rocked (especially Seance, March to Die, Tribulation and Phantasm) but the artwork was a major disappointment. It opened out like the gates to hell but instead of some awe inspiring artwork of demons and carnage, it was a wishy-washy desolate barren wasteland that looked like it had been painted in about ten minutes.
Bob Ross should have done the artwork, at least we'd have had some trees and a little wooden shack to look at.
