Just got back from this, was awesome the sound was pretty shite but i really enjoyed annihilators set, plus we got to meet Jeff and the rest of the band and invited onto the tour bus for a look round lol. Was ace all the guys from annihilator are top blokes. Conversation between Matt and Jeff

Matt = Hey Jeff can i take i shit on the Annihilator tour bus, so i can say i took a shit in your bus

Jeff = No man i've herd all about your shitting habbits

We gave Trivium ago just to see what they where like, watched about 2mins then went to the pub. There sound was suprisingly perfect when Annihilators was pretty messed up. got some pics and stuff with Jeff outside the bus, will post them up tomorrow :rockdevil:

Hahaha

What was the setlist like? Was there much old stuff and how long did they play for? I saw a setlist on Blabbermouth the other day from somewhere and it looked a bit naff, but I don't know if that was a tour setlist or if it was changing each night.

I'm going to see them tonight in manchester, should be good hopefully. Don't think I can be arsed with any of the other bands though really.

i went to the manchester show last night, had a pretty good time, the setlist wasn't very good but i'm happy that i got to see them, annihilator actually got a very good reception from the trivium fans(so did all the bands though, i guess since it was practically all kids there was lots of enthusiam)

i'll be at the Plymouth show next week. Looking forward to Gojira & Annihilator.

Sanctity I will check out, and I will be browsing the pussy when Trivium take the stage. SOO many impressionable 17 year olds..

I've got an idiot mate (and Trivium fan... (obviously)) who saw them in Bradford and he was impressed by Annihilator. So in some ways it's a good thing, but in most ways its a complete insult that Annihilator are having to sponge off Trivium to propel themselves to greater levels or even going anywhere near them. Stupid Jeff. Trivium will be over in a year or so and all those fans will just move onto the next stupid trend.

Plus this guy bases a band on how "hard" they are. Dunno why he likes Trivium then. Matt Heafy regulary gets owned by piss bottles.

Myself and the Pitiful Reign guys were lucky enough to be able to meet up with Jeff Waters and the rest of the band at Bradford and spend some time with them.

You couldnt meet nicer, more down to earth guys, with not an ego in sight, and that includes the Trivium guys.

Believe me when I say that no one needs to 'sponge' off Trivium, least of all Jeff Waters.

Trivium actually insisted that Annihilator accompany them on this tour and as alien as it may seem, Jeff told us that Matt Heafy knows all of the lyrics to every Annihilator song, he is such a fan.

Im not sure that when faced with the decision any band would refuse to go on a full European tour with such a high profile band, as Trivium. Jeff Waters is far from stupid.

I too, saw many of the Trivium kiddies nodding along in approval to the Annihilator stuff, and as you rightly say this is a good thing, as it may lead them to check out other thrash bands in the process.

the decision to go on tour is purely a business one, its nothing to do with liking a band or not.

The exposure this tour will give the new album, is worth far more than whether Trivium are a good band or not.

( I , in fact only managed about a minute and a half of Trivium's set before escaping to the sanctuary of the pub)

You also may be right about the fans moving onto the next trend when Kerrang moves onto its next favourite, but if 10% of those kids go out and buy a thrash cd based on what theyve seen, then IMO thats a good thing :)

I'll be there in Cambridge on wednesday! Can't wait to see Annihilator, and I know they seem to be pretty hated around here (and most metal boards come to think of it), but I am looking forward to seeing Trivium... From what I've heard of them Sanctity don't sound too bad either, definetly not as forced as the newer Trivium anyway.

Yeh damn right it was a business choice. What did Jeff think about being understudy to Trivium? What did he think about inviting Trivium on his new album? I love Jeff and think he is amazingly talented but I think he's getting ripped to shreds by the big men in charge.

And if he isn't... it's a sad day.

I can't take Trivium seriously. Not only do they come across as complete nads in interviews (I understand how journalists work btw) but they seem to change their tact every 5 mins. "We're metalcore!" "Oh hang on, we're the saviours of Metal!" "I HATE METALCORE, THEY ARE ALL POSERS!". The way they seem to cling onto the tailcoats of universally more respected musicians makes me sick. So much of their music seems ripped as well.

The man I met the other day is a consummate professional. I wouldnt dare to speak about what he thinks about this tour, its not my place.

But what I do know is that nothing is too much trouble for him when he is speaking to fans . He will stop and have a word with everyone who wants to talk to him.

(and even though I was gutted to see it, he even had kind words to the Trivium kids, some of whom clearly didnt know who he was !)

i guess what Im saying is that he knows how to 'play the game' with the men in suits.

I have reserved my judgement over Trivium, I dunno what to think.
From what little i heard of and saw, they appear to be totally cool dudes who loved Annihilator.

I didnt like them live, at all, and i dont know whether they are just band-waggoning, I guess time will tell.
