A noise gate is essential I find.

Luckily my amp has one built in, but it's so not about excessive feedback on stage, think of the poor bastards at the front

it sounds good has this early thrash sound, palm mutes are really sharp so picking patterns sound really good. Im quite enjoying it, still to test it on a bigger amp cuz apparently the pedal is quite noisy but i havent noticed it on my 30 watt vox. As the dude that everyone hates said a bit more gain would help to hide my shit playing otherwise its good.

i used to have tubescreamer soundtank a while back, wasn't metal enough for my liking though!!! never knew about the thrash metal one though!!!!

OLP John Petrucci signature (I wish I could afford the MusicMan model)
Line 6 Spider III 30 watt amp
Digitech RP80 Multi effects pedal

I need some new gear, hopefully I'll be able to afford the Ibanez Xiphos soon, aswell as a better amp.

That guitar is seriously good for the money. I haven't played another guitar that good at that price before. Good buy.

The xiphos is nice, if a little strangely balanced. After some early tuning difficulties, lubricating the trem did the trick and now it rocks! I'm going to try re-positioning the strap buttons to see if that helps.

Seriously, I was just browsing this thread and I need to say something because the pain is so bad:

Has anyone seen Cloverfield where they take that bird behind that thing and her stomach explodes? My stomach proper feels like that right now. I just did a terrible poo. Fuck, this is so painful.
