To be honest, I have found this place to be slightly... odd. Sometimes I've even found it hostile, but its still a decent little community with some good banter and some really funny fuckers on here. I'd see no reason to leave this place, no matter how dark and depressing it is.

God, I never thought working full time would have such a destructive effect on UK Thrash.

It's rare nowadays that we get the unholy trinity of Martin, Iain and Lev posting in the same thread.

I don't know what to make of all this business, but my main concern is that most of the quality members who care about and add to the scene don't really post their points of view - perhaps this is an indicator in itself that the forum is too much of a playground for those who don't even care about what the site is about - so many have drifted into lurk mode or jumped ship entirely (Rik not being the first).

Since day one the forum has been a very loose arena for waffle and I think most people get some enjoyment out of it that way, but I can't help feeling it goes too far sometimes and scares people off.

I'm not commenting on Rik's move, which does seem a bit sudden (although he has every reason to harbour such opinions), but just the site in general, and it's virtually impossible to gauge if I'm just being a moaner or if I'm speaking for others too. Can people please at least PM me with their thoughts on this.

Basically, the Devon holiday. I've never liked Rik, always thought he was insane. So being the little Hitler that I am, tried to get him out of the picture. The others joked about it, and I thought they were serious. Rik ended up finding out and it branded me a dick forever in the halls of dickery. That is very much a short breif version, it was much worse than I've made it sound. The posts were then deleted for the holiday to continue planning.
