Final Fantasy VII has the best soundtrack of any video game ever. And Final Fantasy XII comes pretty damn close.

It is rather good. It certainly has the most memorable songs.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

actually yeah, final fantasy 7 had a real epic soundtrack.i love the battle music(even if it does mean hearing it 50 times in an hour at varying lengths!)
also the boss theme is sooooooooooo rockin, the first time you hear it in the reactor against the mechanical 4 legged thing is cool.
when cloud rides that motorbike its cool too.

on a sadder note the theme of aeris is at first pretty moving(after falling throgh the church/meeting her)
but when sephiroth drops down and swords her through the back, the version of this tune which follows makes it all the more tragic.i will admit i had tears drop on my controller during that,NOT a full sob but pretty close
(the game is just so involving, you become engrossed in the story and attached to the characters)

I remember the exact moment when I experienced that bit for the first time. It was on a school night and I should've been asleep, but like a naughty boy I played the game before I went to bed, only this time I knew i was close to the end of disc 1 and I couldn't switch it off, I just bloody couldn't. Then Aeris died and the boss fight still had the amazing emotional music and I was so excited about how amazing the game was, I really couldn't believe it, and I ended up playing it until about 3.30am, until I got to the snowboarding bit and realised i really should go to bed because I had school in the morning. Then the next morning as soon as I got to school I ran to my friend who at the time had lent me the game (before i bought it myself) and shouted at him excitedly, "I COMPLETED DISC 1! I FINISHED DISC 1! IT WAS AMAZING!!@!@!£3JDHFALSKDFHLADJHF"

No i am a girl.

But i have done everything in that game, and i mean everything... well with the exception of getting Aeris her lvl4 limit breaker before she pops her clogs.

No, I was too excited at how amazing it was, although I did feel quite sad. However though, bloody however, what made me feel more emotional than in any game is when you kill the final boss (The Boss) in MGS3. Isn't that ridiculous, who can imagine killing a final boss would ever make you feel upset. That's how fucking amazing Hideo Kojima is. Bloody hell mate, I'm going to play through that game again very soon.

I never got Aeris' limit break, nor did I kill Emerald or Ruby, but I used action replay cheats and did them all because I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered with the effort of those 3 particular things. I did everything else though by real means and had a ruddy good time doing so.

I have a save file with everything 100% i think... oh crap... I missed one materia when I re-played it!!!! The blue(?) materia from the great glacier.... dayammm....

Emerald and Ruby are pussies, pwned them so hard!!!

FINAL FANTASY VII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doom music is rip-offs of Metallica, Megadeth and Pantera tracks I'm sure... maybe some other bands covered in there...

Metal Gear Solid has that great music when you complete a training level, which is nice!!!!

Quake 2 also had fucking amazing music, some bits of Death (off Left To Die mainly) sound like that music, and it makes me think of crappy ps1 graphics and blowing stuff up!!!! haha

Do you mean the Alexander summon by any chance? I always used to miss that on the many times I played through the game, apart from once.
