This film is amazing.
The Joker was absolutely amazing.
But it was a good film in general. I liked the fact that it was a bit more 'complex' than previous batmans, there was more to it, and as such was more accessible says I.

I can't get over how well put together it is. That should raise he bar for the standard of new films me thinks.

Watched it last night and loved it, felt it went on a bit to long but that was most likely becuase I was knackered.
Wish they did more with Two Face.

Re: The Dark Knight excitement thread
I just saw it tonight and have pretty mixed views. I thought it was fucking good but now wish that I hadn't had it hyped up before seeing it. It was better than I expected - I didn't expect much on the strength of Batman Begins - but I didn't come out of the cinema thinking, 'Damn! That was so good I could see again right now and not be bored'.
The first 15 minutes or so were pretty dire: I thought they were trying to cover too much in too short a period of time. I thought the film got pretty fucking amazing when they blew the bitch up (should have been hotter), though. I had no idea Two Face was going to be in it and thought they did well to bring him in.
One thing I will say, Ledger is not as good as everyone keeps saying he is. Fair enough, I found it hard to believe it was Ledger at times but that's probably just because the only other films I've seen him in are 10 Things I Hate About You and that one about jousting. As film villains go, he's not exactly 'up there'.

The maniacal voice, the shrill cackles, the rapid random eye movement, and the sporadic tongue action (theres no non-gay way of saying it) he played the Joker to perfection and beyond. It's going to be very very very hard to top that.
I'm having such a great crywank over the film.

So, is Harvey 2 face dead?
I thought the film was ok but I was never a big Batman fan anyway. I am surprised at all the acclaim Ledger has been getting. I would have thought that playing the Joker would be an easier role to "get into character" for than most. Saying that, still not as easy as Slim Shady playing Slim Shady in 8 mile and look at the kudos he got for that!!!

OK, watched it finally!
It was amazing, good plot and good action. Some of the scenes and lines were just fantastic!
Ledger's role was hyped a bit too much and I thought it was a bit cheap in places, the easy maniacal laughter and occasional silliness ruined the genius of the character he had built.
While there were some great character progressions throughout the film, the only one that didn't get you involved very much was Batmans. He just seemed to come in, save things, go away, talk about how sad he was... Didn't make the character as real and involving as I'd had liked.
I liked how throughout the film everyone was referring to Harvey Dent as Gotham's White Knight and at the end Gordan had that horribly cheesy speech that ends on ..."Dark Night", that was quite cool.
On the whole, a brilliant film, one worthy of everyone's attention. Just don't go in expecting it to change your life.

I thought the guy who played Harvey Dent looked ever-so-slightly like Martin, especially post-catastrophe. Nicer hair, though.

Fortunately for Martin, he doesn't have that ridiculously large bum chin.
