What's up with Napalm Death?

Nothing in comparison with most of those bands there, but as you asked, i have to say, I think they lost a lot of credibility when they decided to stop playing music that influenced others, and started being influenced by those they had influenced!! :?

I disagree. During the mid 90s Napalm Death seemed to lose the plot a little bit and it was bands like Nasum which spurned them on to make proper grind music again. If anything I think that it shows just how humble they are. I also think the last four albums are the best thing they've produced thus far in their career.

Good day to you, Sir!

( )

Thats probably the difference in opinion then. I got into napalm death at the time they recorded the tracks for "Scum", and saw the vast change in style that came a couple of years after, whereas you knew them first when they were a mediocre death metal band!!

EUURGGHH!! Have you even heard Smear Campaign?! I can feel a migraine coming on.

Mort's not saying they are now a mediocre DM act, just they were during the 90s.

I love Scum and FETO but Enemies of the Music Business was a real eye-opener for me. Just so fucking intense. I obviously wasn't there at the start so it holds no nostalgia value. I think that post Enemies they haven't put a foot wrong. Also, while they have taken some more recent influences on board, I don't think any other band sounds like them at the mo. And Smear Campaign is possibly even better than EMB. Fucking great band.

I guess I was too much in a Napalm Death rage to see what he actually meant. What did you think of the Code is Red... Long Live the Code?

Napalm Death are easily one of my favourites.

I heared Terrorizer gave "Utopia Banished" something like 2 out of 10... Stupid! That's their best album I reckon. The later stuff is awesome too. Enemy of the Music Business is fucking violent as fuck.

I did't like that "Fear Emptiness Despair" period they went through, some of their albums are fucking wank, but they've redeemed themselves with the last few albums being absolutely brutal. Plus, Barney Greenway has the most aggressive shouting voice ever!

Fear Emptiness Despair is one of the good ones. Utopia Banished isn't their best, but 2/10 is A LIE!! I hate people who don't like Napalm Death.

I wonder who he'd be more excited about, My Chemical Romance or Linkin Park? It's a metal conundrum!

UTOPIA BANISHED RUUULES MAN!
It's proper heavy as fuck and fast as hell too. It's full of those Classic ND powerchord riffs that are so simple, yet make you want to smash an old womans face in, then fuck her as hard as you can while she's screaming in pain about her broken hip.
I didn't like Fear Emptiness Despair myself. There were no fast songs on there at all. It didn't seem as heavy as their other stuff. Bah, that's my opinion anyway.

Fear Emptiness Despair was quality as was Diatribes i thought, I enjoyed ND when they went thru their more death metal stage. Glad they went back to crushing Grindcore tho. Top band. :rockdevil:

And let me guess, Carcass were at their best when 'Sanjiv' sang for them?
