I was at the Wolves show last night aswell so for what it's worth, here are my thoughts.

Watain - Average Satyricon-esque black metal. not bad, not great. 5/10.

Legion of the Damned - Heavily influenced by Slayer (Always a plus in my book) and heavy as hell. The only nit I could pick would be the overuse of the title in the chorus to Werewolf Corpse. 7/10

Celtic Frost - Excellent as expected, but my only major gripe was finishing the set with Synagoga Satanae. I saw them at The Fiddler last year and it worked as a set closer then, but only because it was a full length show. With only an hour to play with, choosing a lumbering 9 minute track with more false endings then The Return of the King was nver going to sit well, considering they could have played Return to the Eve and Babylon Fell instead. 8/10

Kreator - Band of the night for me. By a distance. Where Celtic Frost rely on Atmosphere and a brooding sense of menace for their songs, Kreator just hit you with a full-on, no frills attack.
No fucking about, just straight into Enemy of God and Pleasure to Kill and continuing along the same vein with Extreme Aggression, Betrayer, Phobia etc.
My neck hurt this morning.
I swear Mille was going to explode at the end when he got the crowd to shout "HATE" for the introduction to the obvious set closers, Flag of Hate and Tormentor. 9/10

the crowd, although sparse was suitably mental. A stupidly violent circle pit erupting at the very start and only letting up occasionally so people could draw breath.
Thankfully, I was away from the melee and was stood at the barrier to the left of the stage.
I'm getting on a bit now (35) and my circle pit days are becoming more infrequent.

If you're after the older CDs best of luck. It took me an eternity to get hold of a copy of Casus Luciferi which is fekkin good.

You can get that on Amazon; neither of the first two albums are exactly hard to get hold of.

Aye,I'm 39 and pretty much prefer to headbang at gigs than mosh these days. But if anyone doubts my metal credentials,I was in the pit for Slayer on the "South of Heaven" tour so I've paid my dues.

Hmm. Limited availability and 4-6 weeks for delivery according to Amazon. Best of luck if you try. Better off getting someone off here to burn it or upload it.

Oh, come off it. These albums are easy to get hold of if you're prepared to put the most minute bit of effort into it, i.e. a fucking Google search.

Really a google search. Maybe you should teach me some of your advanced computing techniques !!!
Yes it would appear that Drakkar are now making Rabid Death Curse and Casus Luciferi more available.
I am just telling my experience. I bought CL early 06 and could only find it on one European website. Supernal, usually the most reliable, only had RDC. It took about 6 weeks and a few chasing emails for it to come through.

Legion of the Damned - 4/10 A band with no riffs and no tempo changes

Celtic Frost - 6/10Not my kinda thing so this is a bit harsh. There were a couple of really good songs which got me banging a bit though

Kreator- 8/10 a few dodgey songs on the set but they were on great form and the crowd was really up for it-pity i was so tired from st paddy's and couldn't enjoy it more

Overall night- 7/10 had a great time at the gig and chatting to people but what's brought it down is the huge financial cost and the realisation i need to do an essay by 8.50 today which is in less than 8 hours :wall:

Legion Of The Damned were awful. At first I was quite excited at hearing some thrash but when I realized ALL their songs sounded EXACTLY the same, I almost fell asleep. No good riffs, completely unimaginative drumming and monotonous vocals. Baby thrash.

I thought Watain were better, the fucking singer with dead rodents hanging from his jacket!

Frost were cool () and the only problem I had was the talking bits, they seemed to kill the mood a bit but the set list was so good that it didn't really matter too much.

Kreator were my favorite, I was worried about the set list but it came across really well live. I moshed like a bastard and thoroughly enjoyed their ultra tight, great sounding show.

It was also great meeting all of you crazies, especially Ripper for the first time, cheers for that travel money man, much appreciated... Til next time! :D
All in all, a fucking great night! Again, again!

Best gig in ages, by far!

After Celtic Frost it felt as though it was already the end of a great show - and yet we still had a whole Kreator set to go! Totally awesome.

Watain - 6/10

LOTD - 3/10

Celtic Frost - 9.9/10

Kreator - 7.5/10

Watain - pretty damn decent, sound wasn't all that clear but their songs came across ok, nice and aggressive but no absolute fist-pumping moments. They didn't really play long enough to open up perhaps. Good band though.

LOTD - as has been said, seemed fairly appealling at first, but as their set wore on it seemed like the same song over and over again, uninventive drums, basic chug-based riffs, shouty vocalist. The night's low point.

Celtic Frost was one of the most crushingly killer sets I've ever witnessed, it was like beholding gods.

Kreator were very enjoyable despite the dubious set list, the encore was especially ripping, and Mille was entertaining!

Great to meet so many people as well - the crowd was brilliant. Ripper in particular, a totally top bloke! Until next time! :rockdevil:
