thing is my parents are cool and not killjoys.if there was something on t.v that wasnt necessarily appropriate,instead of banning us from watching it they would double bluff us.

after a few months,with me being the oldest i eventually managed to sit through full episodes.

anyway its not just eurotrash it was things like Bottom(i was 9/10yrs old)and lipstick on your collar(worse than eurotrash) and mostly things on channel 4 ie:their alternative more adult based kinda comedies and programmes.

the only thing we were banned from ever watching was the vhs tape of Pulp Fiction.

i remember when my mum and dad got it on vhs they watched it every eve for like 2 weeks so for us boys it was go to our rooms time at 9 (coz the film was so long)

i had bought my own video player by that time(bout 12yrs old)but i DIDNT want to sneakily watch it(although my parents did keep it safely stored in their room).
the reason why i didnt even want to see it was because when my parents had it on full blast downstairs and i could hear most of it from my room and i was truly petrified just hearing it.i didnt even wanna see what was happening(maybe it seemed worse coz it was left to my imagination)but to hear samuel l jacksons crazy parts plus loads of gunshots and screaming had me trembling just before settling to try sleep.
"say what again" "did i break your concentration" "the path of the righteous man..." "i will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger" etc etc scared me so much i used to pull the covers up tight and at times block my ears

anyway when i got to 15 i finally asked if i could watch it and they let me.
it was just as disturbing if not worse(with the bum rape/gimp/basement scene)

looking back on it,Pulp fiction is rather humorous but i think a lot of films only come across like that to the viewer when they are a bit older for example:lockstock/snatch/reservoir dogs.they all seem like comedies but as a teen they make for pretty tense
disturbing viewing.

now the whole family watch all kinds of crazy shit,weve always liked intelligent comedy,alternative comedy and more bizarre stuff like brass eye and anything what most people just "didnt get".dirty sanchez/jackass/balls of steel/south park are enjoyed by all of us.same with films:troma and matt and trey stuff make lovely family viewing.

i show them the odd shocking clips on the vids thread/funny pics thread aswell as any other wierdness.

only thing i would NEVER show my parents would be the uncut versions of Urotsukidoji or Violence Jack.these are just tooooo disturbing and taboo and i wouldnt want them to secretly arrange to have me taken away
