For fuck's sake!

You people just don't like Peep Show enough to be upset by the fact that it's no longer as good as it was. Personally, I stop liking things when they stop being as good as they were previously. Are you people the sort of shit-munchers (the only funny part of last night's Peep Show) that find newer Simpsons funny? Do we not go on and on about how Season 12 of South Park has been largely gant? The same thing is happening with Peep Show.

At the end of the day, I'm not going to laugh at something that isn't funny, even if it is an episode of Peep Show.

'Tee-hee! They said clean shirt! LOLZ!'

That just wasn't a completely peripheral joke in season 1.

To paraphrase Satan and Martin:

GAWWWWD!

I just don't understand how you can find that episode so noticeably worse than earlier seasons.

Well, it's on 'par' with the last season, which really isn't much of an accolade.

Basically, and I've said it before, I don't find Peep Show cringe-worthy any more. OK, so Friday's episode did play on Mark's unhealthy interest in history, but it was no where near as 'My Christ! What are you doing, man?!' as when he tried to seduce Toni by doing a Stalingrad-based chat-up line. They also seemed to base around one-third of the episode on Jeremy having chlamydia whereas in a previous series that got a brief mention in the pub. Again, this is hardly ground breaking Peep Show. I guess if you watch Peep Show as just another Channel 4 program that makes you laugh, you won't get my argument. But, if like me, you could actually emphasise and relate to the characters and the situations they got into, then you probably wouldn't mind seeing more thought-provoking episodes in the future.

I'm hoping that they can pull their act together during the rest of this series and do something similar to the dance classes where Jeremy met Nancy, but I can't see it happening. That whole episode was great, to be honest.

What about his whole chat with the burglar thing? Did you not find that remotely funny?

Should that not be 'an' Iain?

And, no, I didn't find the chat with the burglar funny. I thought I'd made it clear that the only thing I laughed at was the 'shit-munchers' remark.

I can't believe your senses of humour are so shit.

The joose is loose it appears.

Yeah it should have been "an iain" but i am very hungover, and the fact that i can read and write in english at all is a boon.

I do agree with you in part though, i don't think it was as funny as previous episodes. But i marked that up to it being the first episode, as for it not being cinge worthy anymore... forcing jez to piss himself in order to avoid his own wedding? You didn't find that in the least bit sofa shrinkable.

I win, again!

I think I said somewhere that there were about two good episodes in series four - that was one of them.

I'm not buying the 'it was the first episode' excuse because I remember the first three seasons of Peep Show being remarkably consistent from episode to episode. If they're not going for the cringe factor any more, they could at least work in more stuff like the emergency Twix, which was far funnier than most of season four combined.
