Re: New Forbidden Track
ah shit.........
I downloaded it to check,
because Im quite a big forbidden fan
but.......... it's not good
they seems want to make a technical complex come back
but sounds tired, messy, chaotic
try to make something sounds urgent and aggressive
but the sound is weak,
it dont aggressive, just keep annoying me for all the time
Russ Anderson is clearly lose his voice
clean voice is not good, sounds weird
maybe they know he aint that powerful as before
so use some vocal effect to backing him but it makes he vocal in album even worse
I'm only give it first spin,
seems the song called Hopenosis is the most decent one to me
[but even it is somehow the most memorial piece in album, the verse riff is bad,
and the chorus switch between acoustic and metal riff is just unnecessary]

That new track was so painful. Went on for 6 minutes to long.
Fuck this band, they are done.

They're certainly no Saxon, that's for sure.

Ha ha John you idiot.
I second (third..fourth..fifth..tenth.. etc) the immediate listening of Vektor - Black Future! It's ridiculously good!!
Also - big fan of Van Drunen. Hail of Bullets fan boy right here. Yup.

Asphyx's "Last one On Earth" > Anything Hail of Dicks have done. Not a fan, don't know why since in theory it's perfect.

Re: New Forbidden Track
It was the H.O.B live show that killed it for me, absolutely blew me away. Heavy as fuck.

Re: New Forbidden Track
Having listened to the album, it's kind of a blend of their own later albums and something in the Nevermore vein. It's not a thrasher at all - the song that started this thread is the thrashiest thing on it so if that didn't grab you chances are you'll hate the album.
If you've followed them over the years the album won't surprise you much, except that it's more progressive than their last two. The processed vocals were there on those albums - he hasn't been opera shrieking for a long time now.
It's got enough variety and depth that I know I'll keep listening to it, there are plenty of interesting and nice bits but nothing classic jumps out. Not one for the thrash crowd though I'd say.
