Yep 8 is brilliant, 9 and 10 are also although 7 is king.

8 and 9 are worth playing once, but the ones I'd say you need to play for sure are 7, 10 and 12. 12 doesn't have such a complex plot but it is still a good story and is a wonderful advancement of the series with many different things and such, new battle system and all that. And the soundtrack is AMAZING. 8 and 9 are ok, stories aren't great but there are some lovely level designs and good battle things and some nice FMV sequences, but neither of them have the unbelievable power of 7, which is the true ultimate example of RPG perfection.

I play counter strike:source and i'm addicted to xbox live. Love playing call of duty 4 and gears of war. I'm a huge fan of the arcade games, TMNT 1989 arcade is a personal fave.

You can play as me in COD2, so it is clearly the best one.
