i could have sworn thats not what you referred to them as when you spoke about them before...i recall the p might have been replaced with sh and the r with p.

I MIGHT BE WRONG THOUGH.

No seriously, if you listen to their tracks, they really don't sound like anything done before. They're very special.

To be honest, my opinion on this topic is the same as the majority. I dont think that there is a great deal of 'originality' within the music of the uk thrash bands. Most of the bands, including my own, play old-skool-esc music and add there own twist to the sound. In essence they my sound 'similar' but are not a complete rip off! Finding complete originality is very very hard to do and anyone claiming to be totally original are having a laugh because someone, somewhere will ALWAYS find a similarity to something done previos to it. Within UK thrash however, there are a lot of talented musicians writing good music which is both of a great technical ability and is very enjoyable to listen to, both on cd and live! Thats credit where credits due if you ask me.

And im more than certain that Martin will have somethin to say about this and how original Heretic are. But on that i will say his. Martin, your band are good. End of. You's play the music you like and dont 'conform' to 'generic' solutions - but only within thrash! But if you ask me, the only reason yous sound drasticly different from the other UK thrash bands is because your sound is closer to death metal than thrash metal. So obviously you'l stick out from the rest. If you's were playin within a more death metal orientated scene im sure many ppl would find you guys 'generic' but since you's dont, youa are flagged as 'different'. I know you dont like my band, but we have the same effect up here in Scotland as you have down south. Our scene up here is full of death metal and harcore, etc, etc. So when we play on the bill we stick out like a sore thumb and to ppl we sound 'differnt' or 'refreshing' because we sound nothing like the other bands! Its not becasue we're original, but mearly because we're playing in a scene with very few, or next to none thrash bands.
Clearly im more built than you.

lol martin are you been serious there or you you taking the piss. I can never tell with you posts. I dont mind either way i'd just like to know your honest opinion

I do think alot of the uk bands are pushing the genre but its still in very early stages, i think a lot of uk thrash bands will find there own niche in the next year or so.

Spot on. We might be original in this climate, but at the end of the day - we're just trying to rip off Carcass and Napalm Death. I'll readily admit that.
